The restaurant’s balance between accessibility and culinary craftsmanship supports repeat visits, particularly for those who value freshness and a lively, authentic dining atmosphere.

While some operational details, such as table clearing and utensil quality, might benefit from improvement, the overall experience remains positive. The quality of the seafood, the breadth of the menu, and the engaging sushi train concept make Ougi Kaiten Sushi a compelling spot for those seeking genuine Japanese flavors in a casual, inviting environment. Whether you are a local family or a sushi aficionado, this venue promises a flavorful journey worth returning to.

My kids love coming to this sushi train. It has changed owners few times, but this time was amazing! The sushi train is always filled with a variety of choices and flavors, constantly supplying fresh salmon plates. There are so many options, and you don’t need to order individually. We will definitely come back again!

Great atmosphere, good food — but room for improvement. I’d long wanted to visit this place, but my schedule never quite aligned with their opening hours — always something in the way. First impressions were mixed. For a restaurant of this level and pricing, the cheap wooden chopsticks and poorly washed spoons were disappointing. In my view, stainless steel or recyclable plastic chopsticks — whether reusable or disposable — would be far more appropriate. The menu offers a solid selection of nigiri, sushi, rolls, appetizers, and non-alcoholic drinks. Unfortunately, most of the rolls fell apart easily — quite literally. That said, there was a highlight: the Philadelphia roll (listed under a different name) was surprisingly well-made — large, generously filled, delicious, and beautifully presented. Sadly, the tamago fell apart. I tried shimesaba for the first time and would strongly recommend it to any fish lover. The interior has a charming atmosphere: walls decorated with parchment featuring stylized Japanese artwork, a sushi train quietly moving through the space, and modern pop-rock playing in the background — subtle but fitting. The staff is cheerful and friendly, adding to the overall sense of comfort. Why not five stars: – the door is awkward and difficult to open; – prices are steep, especially given portion sizes (karaage — $16 for six pieces); – the staff moves slowly, perhaps due to traditional Japanese service — clearing the table only after the meal, not during. Despite the high prices, I’d like to return — most likely for a special occasion. It’s a worthy place, but if they want guests to come back more often, some details need attention.

Absolutely loved my experience at this new sushi place! The freshness of the nigiri was exceptional, and all the dishes were beautifully crafted. The staff were friendly and attentive. I particularly enjoyed the unique flavors of King fish Ceviche which was refreshingly zesty and beef Tataki was also great, perfectly tender and flavourful. The smoky and jucy Kusi marinated pork belly was absolutely delicious too. Can't wait to return for more delicious food. Highly recommend!

Kaiten sushi near Cockburn Central train station. Very decent kaisen don, usual tuna and swordfish are a good indicator if the fish quality is good or not. This place passes with flying colour. Decent decor and ok pricing. 4 stars for average service. Good rather than great if you had been to Japan.

This place was amazing I was just coming off from the train station and found this nice sushi place we got seating really quick and got some drink and sushi off from the train. There wasn’t much food on each plate or much plate on the train but that didn’t really bother me as it I prefer quality over quantity because these sushi rolls were delicious and would definitely come again as this place was very authentic with beautiful decoration. If you in the cockburn area definitely consider coming here as everything about this place is lovely such as delicious food, a really kind and polite waiter, and beautiful decoration and authenticity it is truely perfect
